Terms
Estimates, not diagnosis
Pitch readings, range endpoints, and broad voice-type alignments are estimates. A fuller voice classification also depends on tessitura, timbre, register transitions, training, and repertoire. The site does not provide medical, therapeutic, or professional vocal advice.
Use your voice safely
Sing only at a comfortable volume and stop if you feel pain, strain, dizziness, or persistent discomfort. Do not force extreme notes to improve a result. Seek a qualified professional for vocal-health concerns.
Availability
The service is provided “as is” as a free educational reference. It may change or become unavailable.
Privacy
The live test processes microphone samples on your device. Audio is not recorded, uploaded, or retained by vocalrange.org.
Microphone
Your browser asks for permission only after you read a microphone notice and choose to continue. The audio stream feeds a local pitch detector and stops when you finish, retry, close the page, or use the stop control.
Local storage
This release does not silently save completed range history or send result values to a server. A theme preference may be stored locally when you choose the theme control. You can remove it by clearing this site's browser data.
Statistics collection
Submission of test results is currently disabled. The public status is “Observed sample: N=0 · Collection is not enabled.” No observed distribution or first-party dataset is claimed until consent, validation, single-use completion tokens, rate limiting, retention rules, and robust aggregation are operational.
Hosting
Cloudflare processes connection and request metadata to deliver, protect, and measure the site. The site operator does not use connection data as a vocal-range dataset and does not use advertising trackers.
Health information
Do not enter medical details. The test is not a health assessment or diagnosis.
